Scholarships

Civil Engineering is constantly searching for new sources of scholarships. Currently, the Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department has the largest amount of funded scholarships within the College of Engineering and Mines. Our scholarship portfolio currently holds eight (8) departmental endowments and three (3) shared endowments (shared with other departments). Our goal is to increase the market value of our endowments to $1 million by the end of this century so that we may support more students. Additionally, this department also receives several other annually funded scholarships to award outstanding students, freshman to graduate status.

 Important Information for Scholarship Applicants

• Application deadline for Academic Year 2011-2012 is 5 pm, March 22, 2011.  The Tuesday following Spring Break.   If you do not submit an application by the deadline, you will NOT be considered for the scholarships.  Please don't miss the deadline.
  
• All applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of twelve (12) units in the semester the scholarship is awarded and have a Social Security Number
• For a “need based” scholarship you must complete a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the applicable year .
• Once you submit the Scholarship Application, you will be considered for scholarships awarded through your Department(s) and those awarded through the College.  You do not need to submit the form multiple times.  One application will suffice for the entire academic year.
  
• You will be asked to upload a resume, a bio explaining why you are interested in your specific major, and a page explaining your personal educational and professional goals.
