Posted:  February, 2012  Structural Engineer Production Manager - Glass Glazing Storefront Curtainwall.  Romanoski Glass & Mirror Co., Inc., a locally headquartered glazing contractor and fabricator, has an immediate opening in Tucson. 

We are an industry leader in the glazing and fabrication industry. We take pride in our commitment to quality and we are known throughout the Southwest United States for our unparalleled designs. We specialize in designing, fabricating and installing custom curtain walls, windows, skylights, sunshades, structural glass walls, and multiple types of entrances and doors. We are looking for an experienced, top-notch structural engineer with solid drafting, engineering and production management experience and the desire to lead and mentor draftsmen as well as production personnel in the fabrication department.

The ideal candidate possess an Structural Engineering degree, be a licensed PE in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas (or quickly be able to obtain these licenses), and have a minimum of 5 years structural design experience in the Aluminum Storefront, Curtainwall, Glass and Glazing field. This candidate will have experience of using industry standard structural design software packages, and possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.

 Position Overview

 Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Create  technical details to specify dimensions, materials and sometimes procedures required to complete an aluminum and glass curtain wall project
• Prepare shop drawings and optimized material cut lists for aluminum curtain wall systems utilizing AutoCAD 2010 so that shop fabricators and field erection crews may utilize these drawings to successfully complete a project
• Prepare and stamp engineering calculations for aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems
• Manage all aspects of the fabrication department including production, logistics, equipment maintenance, safety
• Manage other AutoCAD drafters and designers

 Requirements:

• Must be proficient in AutoCAD versions 2000 through 2010
• Must be capable of creating shop drawings in AutoCAD 2010
• Experience in the glass and glazing, curtainwall, storefront, window wall industry for at least 5 years
• Must be able to interact professionally with project managers, other drafters and fabrication personnel and follow directions
• A four year civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, or construction technology degree
• A structural engineering PE license in the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas is preferred

Posted: September, 2011   NCS Consultants, LLC (NCS) is currently seeking field personnel to perform field work related to geotechnical investigations on an as-needed basis in the Phoenix and Tucson areas.  The field work involves coordinating the field investigation with drillers and soil testing laboratories as well as arranging for traffic control and utility location.  The field work also includes the inspection of samples from test pits and drilled borings, the delivering of samples to a designated geotechnical laboratory and the preparation of boring logs or excavation inspection logs in accordance with procedures developed by NCS.   Geological mapping may also be required.  Following the field work, the candidate may be required to assist NCS with office-based work, such as the development of computer-based drilling logs, the preparation of subsurface profiles, and the interpretation of field data.  Geotechnical or geological experience is preferred.  The candidates are expected to provide their own transportation.
